If you miss this- you’re just plain crazy.
Woke up to an email from Oprah (not Oprah herself, I’m not that important, yet, haha) to find our cute shades featured in her 7 Fav Retro Sunglasses for summer. Thought we’d share!
Looks like our 50th celebration car is a hot idea! Not only has our Jeep been flying off the lots, it looks like Barbie has taken a page from our book on this one. Last month in Milan, Mattel unvieled their 50th celebration Pink Barbie Fiat! Not exactly a beach mobile, seeing as there are crystals on the hubcaps and rims, but suitable for cruising around town in style
It’s been a busy morning here in at the LPHQ and we’ve had so much fnu with all the kids that came to work today! Art projects galore and a pizza party to top it off is my kind of work day! I’m posting a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. The kids working on billboards in the halls and designing and painting their own prints.
In light of it being Earth Day we thought we’d share a conservation tid-bit I was recently made aware of. Did you know it takes over 50 GALLONS OF WATER to make 1 LATTE????? Stats show that over 50% of 18+ year olds in America drink coffee. And they average 2.6 cups A DAY! Sadly there is no such thing as locally grown coffee (unless you are from Hawaii) and the energy used to transport it from South America or out in The Pacific Ocean is immense. Not only that but water is used in almost every element of your morning Starbucks run. From the cups and lids to the sugar, milk and beans themselves- it’s amazing to see how something so small has such a big price tag.
One of our wonderful Winter Park faithfuls organized a Lilly themed table at this year’s “Dinner On The Avenue” in Winter Park, FL this past Saturday. And how truly appropriate… she won The Most Colorful Award!! We just had to share with everyone- when it comes to Lilly, Mary Lane pulls out all the stops. We are so proud of her! Congratulations to you and your team!
In her email to us on Sunday she said, “Of course, no one can top Lilly when it comes to colorful entertaining! We came to win and we did. We think, even Lilly herself, would have been proud and definitely enjoyed the evening. The only problem, how do we top this next year????”
On Saturday, the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) filled Rome’s Piazza del Popolo with hundreds of paper mache Pandas in hopes to raise awareness of this beautiful creature’s desperate state. There are only 1,600 pandas left in the wild! These little guys are moving on this week to take over a bridge in the Sicilian town of Syracuse where they hope to cause a stir during the meeting of the Ministers of the Environment from G8 countries. Next week they are expected to be auctioning them off on ebay, or if you’d rather directly sponsor one of the remaining 1,600 real bears, head over to the WWF website to make a donation.
We’re so excited to announce the opening of our new Lilly store in the PGA Mall! Stop by to check out the amazing decor and shop around. Any purchase over $300 will receive a gift tote full of goodies!
Cheers! Happy Friday!
We are BEYOND thrilled, excited, ecstatic to introduce the Colorful Cause Jubilee Collection for Summer 2009!!!! I’m sure by now you have all heard (and if you haven’t we won’t hold it against you) that we’ve teamed up with 9 amazing celebs to bring you some kick-*** clothes and give back to a meaningful charity. Gwyneth Paltrow, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Angie Harmon, Debra Messing, Marcia Cross, Bridget Moynahan, Catherine Bell, and Brooke Shields have all worked with us to design their very own Lillys. Each celeb also designed a look for their child or children, helping us celebrate a long time Lilly tradition: Mommy & Me.
Proceeds will benefit EBMRF a children’s foundation dedicated to research and treatment for a rare genetic skin disease. If you want to learn more about this charity please visit here. We have also been following one family’s journey with this heartbreaking disease through their blog. These are limited items but you can find them mostly everywhere Lilly is sold. We’re positive that you won’t be able to find such a colorful summer kick-off collection anywhere else this season!!
Some parting words of wisdom from Lilly herself:
“If you haven’t any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble.” - xx Lilly
