Ten Days Around the Globe
Posted on October 6, 2011 in Lovin' Lilly, Travel by
Dress Designer Abraham recently took a trip around the world, 10 stops in all, in search of inspiration. His trip took him on a multi-city tour from Philly to New York (Fashion’s Night Out pit-stop!) to LA to Finland to Denmark to Sweden to London to New York and back to Philly, where an exhausted but inspired Abraham, got to work on capturing all the amazing designs he saw. We wanted to share a few pics of the Nordic inspirations he found along the way and of course, we couldn’t NOT share pics of some of the fun & good eats he had too! Here’s Abe in his own words about his world tour…
I started my trip in NYC for Fashion’s Night Out where the streets of New York became runway shows. Everyone was out to see and be seen and absolutely dressed-to-impress. It’s always great night to be inspired by all the Fashionistas of the city. (Sadly, I couldn’t party too much since I had to catch an early plane with my coworkers to LA) Once in LA, we took a trip to the monthly market at the Rose Bowl (d)- a must-stop for vintage shopping. (check out those vintage Lillys (a) we found!). After three short days there, I jumped back onto a plane making a quick stop in Finland (even the airport (b) itself was beautiful) before heading to Denmark. Copenhagen is a city very much like LA ( the LA of Scandinavia) and the vintage shopping, bike rides, boat tours and galleries (e) really got my creative juices flowing. Before I knew it I was back on a plane to spend three days in Stockholm. The Swedes really know what classic dressing is all about. (examples- check out those window shots! (c)) I could not get over the beauty of the city and the people. Ten days later I was back at the Pink Palace of Philly (not to be mistaken for the Pink Palace of Copenhagen (f)) armed with so many ideas for our Fall ’12 and Resort ’12 collections. I can’t wait to see all the new dresses in stores and on our customers!
A Greecian ταξίδι (Getaway)!

Jose, Visual Director here at Lilly, came back with a dark tan, a HUGE smile & over 700 pictures from his recent trip to Greece. We couldn’t wait to hear the details and when we did- we just had to share. Here’s Jose to tell you about his AH-MA-ZING trip (and the sandals he won’t stop talking about)…

My 10-day whirlwind in Greece started with champagne and chocolates in Athens at the Grande Bretagne. Then off to Crete to enjoy the country and peaceful outdoors at the Blue Palace. And then to Mykonos via propeller plane, where we rented ATV’s to explore the party island of Greece and enjoy the amazing Sunset at the Santa Marina….

A Lilly Lover’s Trip to Paradise!
Posted on September 16, 2011 in Made Me Smile, Travel by Lindsay
Aloha Lilly Lovers! In anticipation of our favorite summer months slowly winding down (I’m jealous of all you Floridians!), I decided to take an end of summer vacay to one of the most beautiful spots I have ventured thus far: Maui, the second largest island in Hawaii. What better way to escape the end of summer blues than to pack my Lilly and play in the sea, sand, sun?!

Now, I’m not really sure where to begin with this magical journey. The whole trip was a blur of beautiful beaches, the bluest ocean I’ve ever seen, and LOTS of Lilly clothes to accompany me on my journey. I’m going to give you a glimpse of my trip…where I went & what I wore! The first, and one of my most favorite, the Cassie slub Dress, came in most handy out of all my Lilly’s- perfect for wearing as a cover up or as an easy dress to dinner. The Cassie was perfect for almost every Hawaiian occasion. Here’s a quick pic of me while driving the Road to Hana on my way to our lux hotel, the Ritz Carlton, Kapalua (!!!!!) How cute is the color on this Cassie? (I have the Warehouse Sale to thank for this sample purchase…we never offered yellow on our line!)

Since today is all about celebrating the luck of the Irish, we really wanted to share the luck of our [Irish] customer, Kelley! She was one of our lucky “Pack for Paradise” winners this year and she shared this picture of herself shopping at the Lilly Pulitzer Domain store in Austin, Texas where she entered to win!
Kelley and her family will be vacationing at the new luxury resort, Balcones Del Atlantico in the Dominican Republic. (Pause for a mental vacation now by viewing these amazing pictures) Now don’t be jealous of Mrs. Kelley- she has to deal with all the stress of what to pack! Here’s what she told us she’s planning to pack right now…
“I will definitely be packing my pink Lilly polo and some flower shorts! Yesterday I looked at the knit dresses so they won’t wrinkle. I love happy flowery pants/capris – so who knows. I will mostly take swimsuits, flip flops, sun glasses and some resort wear to wear to dinner – and of course, sun screen!” Sounds like Kelley has all the important stuff sorted out. Now she just has to book those plane tickets with our friends at Jet Blue!

Janie is back from her trip and has to share…read on!
Hi there. So I mentioned in my last post that I was in Savannah and Charleston…or at least the packing part. I have to recap the trip becasue I had the best time ever!
First, did you know I grew-up in Augusta, GA? So Savannah is very close to home and to say I love it…is the biggest understatement…well, it’s like saying I like Lilly or I have a few cocktail rings. In reality I ADORE Savannah. I obviously love Lilly and…the cocktail ring collection is taking on a life of it’s own…we may have to build an addition onto the house for a vault.
I love to exaggerate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can see you laughing to yourselves…YES, I exaggerate. Or is that just enthusiasm…whatev. LOVE SAVANNAH.
I went with my B-O-S-S who just happens to be one of the most lovely people ON THE PLANET. Her name is Linda Bradbury and she is the VP of Product…meaning she has to TRY desperately to control and guide my creative-ness. It is a full time job for her…bless you Linda.
We stayed at The Mansion on Forsyth Park. WOWEE. It is very chic, the staff is lovely and it is within walking distance to all of historic Savannah. Perfect. Take a peek.
We were there for two reasons…
1. SCAD
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Savannah College of Art and Design. IF I do not show-up to work one day you will find me in Savannah as a “fibers” student at SCAD. They have the most amazing programs for all things art and fashion. Every time I visit I am completely blown away by the facilities, the staff and the students. And it is in the heart of Savannah. SCAD has played a MAJ part in bringing Savannah back to life…in such an authentic and historic way…while revitalizing and invigorating. It is an amazing school and I really wish I could be a student there. One day…
On a side note, the last 2 print designers we have hired have come from SCAD. Our very talented Paige and Torie. They were taught such FREEDOM along with the phenominal skills…I really could go on forever. IF your kids want to go to art school PLEASE go visit.
2. To visit our Savannah Store PALM AVE.

SUUUUCH a cute store. They have redecorated with chic seagrass wallpaper and zebra rugs. J’Adore the D’core. We chatted about the Fall line, what everyone loved and styles they wished they had more of. It was a treat to see them and learn more about SOUTHERN FALL.
While we were there we also took a walking tour around historic Savannah which was absolute heaven for me. It is just so close to my heart, the trees, the architectire…and this will sound silly – the dirt. It reminds me so much of growing up and my happy childhood. The Magnolia’s!
My favorite part about Savannah is it’s DARK SIDE. There are rumors of ghosts everywhere…and pirates. It is gorgeous…and spooky…and old-school chic. Mix that with the NEW-ART-COOLNESS of the SCAD influence and you have, in my opinion, the perfect city.
Oh wait…and dinner! Linda and I went to The Pink House. SOOOOO YUMMY. I love grits. Who cares if they make your butt bigger, they are delicious and so worth it. I had a very decadent cocktail and Linda had a ‘pink lady’. Made dinner full of giggles and pink cheeks. No wonder we have so much fun at ‘work’!
OK, I want to tell you more…get onto the Charleston part, but I am going to take a bubble bath and hop into my Lilly pj’s. WHY haven’t we made Lilly bubble bath yet?!??!?!?! I want the Beachy scent for the tubby. I will work on that…tomorrow. Yawn. xx
