Tomorrow is a big, big day here at Lilly. A day we’ve been waiting for and now can hardly believe has come!! Saturday, November 19th, marks the opening of our Lilly Pulitzer boutique in Palm Beach’s legendary resort, The Breakers. I had the chance to speak with a breathless Jose Cuadra (still lots to do before the doors open tomorrow!), Visual Director here at Lilly, about his experience working on this store and how he felt about opening in The Breakers. He hesitated and then said “In one word, we are… Home.”
The build out of the 864 square foot boutique, situated in the exclusive Palm Courtyard, was a collaboration between Jose and Janie, Fashion Director, with the support of our amazingly talented print team. The goal in designing The Breakers store was to reflect the authentic Palm Beach lifestyle where the brand was born and bring in the fun, color, and irreverence that our Lilly Lovers have come to know & adore about us. Janie & Jose also really wanted to emphasize the playground that is Palm Beach – the sun, sand & surf. (Insert Jose gushing about the starfish dressing room they created with stardust sand that just “twinkles!”) Besides the abundance of shells and coral, there’s a map of Palm Beach, the story of Lilly Pulitzer and a timeline of the brand- all beautifully hand painted by the team. (while wearing Lilly & looking adorable, I might add!). The store also has bright punches of the gorgeous Lilly Pulitzer for Lee Jofa fabric that makes us all swoon every time we see it.
And while our Lilly boutique and The Breakers itself is amazingly chic & emanates a Resort lifestyle of people’s dreams, it’s also a warm, down-to-earth, and family-oriented location – and that just might be the most special thing about opening here. It feels like home to us because it feels like Lilly herself- cool in every way, unique & inspiring in everything she did and welcoming to each person that walked in her door. And when the doors open in this iconic, Lilly location tomorrow, “this hidden jewel is going to shine throughout the courtyard” and we can’t wait to welcome each and every one of you… home.
Looks like you’ve got your next vacation plans Come visit us!

Miami, here we come! [hear: Cuban music playing & ice cubes clinking] This Saturday, starting at 12:00ET, Cotton Inc. is hosting a 24 hour (yes, ROUND-THE-CLOCK) runway show featuring 1,400 looks. Twenty of those looks are brought to you by yours truly! (Would it have been a true Florida runway show without the fabulous frocks of a one Lilly Pulitzer?!) That’s why we jumped at the chance to be part of this fashion extravaganza streaming LIVE, all 24 hours, on MTV.com, eonline, and fashionetc.com.
OK so clearly we’re excited for this weekend because it’s a Runway Show! and it’s in South Beach! and it’s on MTV! and have you seen who the host is?! (Guiliana Rancic! ) BUT… we are actually even more excited about being a part of this great event with our long-time partner, Cotton Inc.. Lilly Pulitzer is a company built on cotton-based fabrics – it’s in our roots and continues to be a very important fabric in everything we do. (stay tuned for Summer-exciting stuff to come with Cotton!)
Lilly also loves green, so we love that Cotton is a natural, Eco-friendly fabric that oh, by-the-way, prints BEAUTIFULLY, is low-maintenance and is easy to wear – perfect for the Resort Chic lifestyle our Lilly Lovers embrace. We like to say “if it’s cotton, you’ll know it’s green – even if it’s Pink!”
We can’t wait to show off our beautiful, cotton apparel on the runway Sunday while supporting our friends at Cotton Inc. because they’ve helped Lilly, help you, look ahhhhmazing over our 50[ish] years! Be sure to tune in during the 9:00am hour and watch us strut our stuff in South Beach! (pictured above & linked below are 4 looks we’ll be featuring!)
1. Jenelle Dress in Island Coral Tropi Lace
2. Cassie Slub Dress in Bellina

Our friends here in Philly put together an AH-MAZING list of 30 Lillyfied things to do in Philly this holiday. Coincidentally, (not at all, actually) we have a VERY GOOD reason for you to visit Philly in December – the Lilly Warehouse Sale! So obviously the number 1 thing on your list is to SHOP LIKE A CRAZY PERSON but number 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6? Well how about eat, drink, spa, sight see and brunch?? We’re pree-ty sure we know our Lilly Lovers and we think a Philly Lilly Warehouse Sale weekend sounds like a girlfriends getaway worth planning. So have a looksie and share this list with your bestie!
From Lilly Pulitzer’s King of Prussia location, Philadelphia is only a 30-minute drive away, meaning Warehouse Sale visitors can pack even more into their visits. Thanks to an easy-to-navigate grid layout, the city (like some boots) is made for walking—or cabbing. Check out the suggestions below for great trip ideas, and for even more, go to visitphilly.com (official visitor site) and uwishunu.com (insider blog).
1. Escape the chilly air and cozy up inside Bistrot La Minette, a charming and authentic French bistro with Chef Peter Woolsey, who studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, and his wife Peggy, who hails from Dijon, at the helm. 6th & Bainbridge Streets
2. If your whole table agrees, order the reasonably priced and filling tasting menu at Old City’s Zahav, where James Beard Award-winner Mochael Solomonov serves up authentic and delicious Israeli food. 237 St. James Place
3. Throw a party for your taste buds with a visit to Iron Chef Jose Garces’ Chifa. The blend of Latin and Asian cuisines is both flavorful and memorable, as are the wine, beer and cocktail lists. 707 Chestnut Street
4. Do as Philadelphians do and BYOB—bring your own bottle. Pick up your favorite wine from a state store and bring your appetite to one of the city’s hundreds of BYOB restaurants: Lolita, a BYOT where guests pour tequila in their fruity margarita mixes; Kanella, a Greek spot that will have you planning a trip to the isles; Pumpkin, a small American restaurant that’s big on local ingredients; Mr. Martino’s Trattoria, perfect for that South Philly Italian you’ve heard so much about; or Koo Zee Doo, a family-style Portuguese eatery in the trendy Northern Liberties neighborhood. (Hint: BYOBs are known for their cash-only policies, so call before you dine.)

Each & every store in our family of Signature Stores has a unique history… but today, we’re happy to share the very unique & inspiring story of Rebecca Byrd, owner of Palm Avenue. Rebecca & her husband have a brood of 4 beautiful children who live a happy & typical life in Greensboro. But the story of how they came to be a family of 4 is not so typical. Hear from Rebecca and stick around for the end where you can find out how to buy a custom designed Murfee to benefit the cause Rebecca & her family now hold very close to their hearts- we think you’ll see why…
I joined Jane Stephens and her group from Amani Foundation for a “vision/mission” trip to Kenya in 2006. My sister Claire and my brother Frank joined me on my travels. Our goal was simply to be educated on the plight of orphans in Kenya due to famine, AIDS, and tribal conflicts – upon our return, we planned to share our stories to benefit the cause.

Pink Narcissus, run by two Tallahassee natives, Laura Steen and Juli Downs, just opened this past May as an “official” Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store. Of course, as one of Tallahassee’s premier boutiques, Narcissus had carried Lilly for 15 years before finally deciding to open as a Signature Store. And the timing couldn’t have been better. They were just in time for graduations of all ages! Here’s a little more from Laura…

My Lilly Story: Our original store, Narcissus, carried Lilly Pulitzer for 15 years which is where I fell in LOVE with everything Lilly! Now I get to share my love and knowledge of the resort chic lifestyle with my own customers at Pink Narcissus.
We love being located in Tallahassee. It’s absolutely the perfect blend of families and college kids making for fun days & party nights! And another reason to love Tallahassee?? They voted Pink Narcissus as the “Best of Tallahassee” for “Best New Business,” “Best Women’s Clothing Store” and “Best Kids Clothing Store”! We were very excited about that & know Tallahassee is excited about getting Lillyfied!
1. Shere Wrap 2. Tootsie Sweater Wrap 3. Connell Sweater 4. Shere Sweater Coat
We admit it – we like cashmere. Can you blame us?? It’s warm, it’s cozy and in these styles- it’s adorable! The Shere is a staple, wrapped or worn, and we’re absolutely loooving the new, oh-so-clever, Tootsie wrap! It’s a wrap without the fuss! (seriously- the Tootsie is genius in Cashmere) And be sure to introduce your skinny jeans to the Connell – they’ll be cold weather BFFs!
Whichever sweater you choose, you’ll wow in warmth!

When Kathryn M. Deane, long-time Lilly Lover and co-author of “Bermuda“, approached us about doing some events at our Lilly stores to promote her new book, it was a quick “Yes, of course!!” How could we resist helping spread the word about a book that talks about one of our favorite Resort destinations all while giving 100% of the proceeds back to the island through 4 wonderful organizations?!? (well exactly, we couldn’t!!) Of course we wanted to know a little bit more about Kathryn & what inspired her to write the book (and just how she got Michael Douglas to write the foreward!) so we invited her into our Guest House to fill us in! Here’s a bit more from Kathryn…
1. What do you love most about Bermuda and why did you choose to do a book about the island?
To me, Bermuda is such a timeless place. I see photos of my parents sailing on their honeymoon in Bermuda in the 1950s. I remember exploring the island with my brothers and sisters in the 1960s and 1970s and bringing my children there in the 1990s. And now they are in college and love to come to the island to be with their family and friends. Bermuda has an enduring beauty both in the beaches and the water and in the life and vibrant culture. That’s what we tried to capture in the book—how Bermuda is such a great community made up of extraordinary people. It’s a place that truly has it all and the photographs we put in the book show how much there is to do and see there. There are incredible artists, business people, politicians, visitors & locals, museum curators, children & families, and scientists, all going about their lives in this place of breathtaking natural beauty.
