We are very excited to introduce you all to Jessica Lane, our newest Marketing Intern here at the Pink Palace. For the most part, Jessica’s going to be behind-the-scenes, but from time to time we’ll make ask her to share her perspective as the newest member of our Lilly family! And here she is!…
Hi Lilly Lovers! I’m working as an intern right now in the Marketing Department at Lilly Pulitzer and I wanted to share a little bit about myself! I’m from a small town in CT called Simsbury and have lived there for most of my life. Growing up in New England, Lilly Pulitzer has been in my closet forever, but I have to say- I never imagined I would be able to be a part of such a wonderful company!

Happy Friday Lilly Lovers! Its JC again, the Marketing Intern and I am sad to say that posting this blog is my last official intern duty. I feel a bit like Cinderella, except when the clock strikes 2, instead of losing my McKim and my carriage turning into a pumpkin, I lose my @lillypulitzer.com email and have pack up my pink mini.

We had a blow out BASH at the Oceana Hamptons Splash event this past Saturday night (did you see the pics!?) We took over Margie & Michael Loeb’s beautiful Southampton home with over 400 guests. We know how to throw a party having learned from the quintessential entertainer, Lilly Pulitzer herself! Didn’t get to join in on the fun? Be in the know and read on! Read More

One of our favorite Pack for Paradise partners over the last year has been JetBlue. They’ve partnered with us on several occasions to fly our lucky winners to paradise (it’s easy to love them when they deliver you to heaven!) So when they reached out to us and asked about Janie’s baggage, we thought it was a liiiittle personal but we listened. Turns out they put together a fun program promoting the fact that they offer customers a first checked bag-free all while raising money for children in America. We love JetBlue and we thought it sounded fun so we got on board by donating a Janie-signed Originals Carry On! (complete with an autographed headshot of our favorite blonde along with a signed luggage tag!)
JetBlue does a better job describing the program so here are the details straight from them!

It was just as we thought today on Facebook; a lot of you already know what a QR code is. Quite simply, a QR code or quick response code, is a readable or scannable bar code that you can use, usually with an app, with your smartphone that will take you to an online destination. For those of you who may not have noticed these before, you will now see them EVERYWHERE. They really are popping up in all sorts of places; in magazines, on the back of cereal boxes, on home for sale signs, on restaurant menus, even on tombstones (ok, well that’s in Japan but you see where I’m going with this)

Poor Janie, she learned the hard way… but she’s here to share and tell you what NOT to do this summer…
All right people. I have committed the most obvious summer faux pas…already. I am an idiot. I am acting like a teenager. Ready?
I GOT A SUNBURN.
I mean…I got a really really really bad sunburn. I can’t walk, sit, sleep…wear clothes. It’s a problem J
This is how it went down. I became a spinning fanatic (that bike class at the gym). I am so healthy! It relieves the stress (yes, even happy-go-lucky me gets a bit stressed over her pink and green sometimes). Anyway, spinning. My savior. SO WHAT DO I DO? Buy a bikini…duh! A lilly print bikini of course.
I do not look QUITE like her in my bikini, but in my mind I do J

It was the Sunday of Labor Day and my bff Rachael comes over to the pool with her family. The kids are running around and we get in hysterics over how badly we want to roast in the sun. Just to feel the wonderful SUNSHINE. The warmth. It was a full-on-summer-moment and we lost our heads.
Just to be clear, there was NO sunscreen involved. Of course we slathered up the kids. Any child that walked within a 3 inch radius of my lawn chair I spritzed with spf 800. But me? No no no..I wanted to ‘roast’ with Rachel.

Well, needless to say, I am glowing. That night Rachel and I plus all our FUN friends went to a lobster night party together. It was SO amazing except that I looked like the main course. Not so much my face as my chest, arms and ooooooh my gooooodness…..my new spinning tummy. My tummy that I have been working so hard on and was so excited to SHOW in my lilly bikini, is SCARLET. I did not wear the bikini to the party but you know what I mean. I am afraid I have 3rd degree burns. Of course I have showed everyone in the office (we are very close here, no secrets) and they cringe. Poor me.
OK, so here’s the deal. Please wear sunscreen. Please learn your lesson from me. Please use two coats on your nose. Please remember to do your HANDS (they show aging first!). Just slather your entire lovely lilly body in SPF. For me.
Besides my red skin clashing with my lilly pink, life is very very good. SO happy summer is here. Feeling extra content and happy. Hope you are all loving the summer season.
Sending tons of love.
xx, Janie
Saw this adorable mug on a great blog e*photography. We love all creatures here at Lilly and we always love coffee. Throw in some office humor and we’re sold.
