Don’t you just love a reason to celebrate!? Well, we have one…and a really good one! Today, November 10th, we are wishing Lilly a very happy birthday and extending a party invitation to all of you…after all, what’s a birthday without all of your friends? Stop by any of our retail locations and indulge in champagne and cupcakes (call your local Lilly store for more details) – birthdays are the best excuse for the sweetest of treats. Not to mention, champagne and cupcakes are sooo chic!
But that’s not all. Gifts aren’t only for the birthday girl this year – spend $150 or more in store or online and receive a limited edition printed passport case. You can use it for that fabulous getaway you have planned to (insert destination here)! And guess what? If you spend $500 or more (did we mention the resort line is TDF), you will receive a printed tote (vary by location)! Our love for birthdays is officially confirmed.
So don’t delay – your attendance is requested. This is not the time to be fashionably late!
It’s time to indulge your inner sweet tooth (and boy, we are good at that here at the Pink Palace). We LOVVEEEE Halloween – the perfect time to delight in our favorite treats and play dress up for the day, what could be better, whether you are 3 or 83?!
So, what are our favorites? Within these pink walls, we have a plethora of must-haves…including:
Candy Apples – is there anything more festive? Plus an added health benefit
Reese’s – peanut butter and chocolate = the best combo, don’t you agree?
Gummy Bears – A CLASSIC!
Hot Tamales – We always need some spice in our lives
Peanut Chews – OK, so we are a bit obsessed with peanut butter…
Watermelon Blow Pops – Because they have gum, too!
Well, this list could go ON and ON. A little sugar rush is just what the doctor ordered this Friday (through Sunday)…
What’s your pick?
HAPPY HALLOWEEN Lilly Land and whatever it may be, BON APPETITE!
Our friend Jane is at it again! We were so happy to be included in yet another one of her fabulous inspiration boards. Our paper lanterns which can be found here are the perfect accessory for any occasion.
Lovely blogger Rachel from Black Eiffel is! Maybe she needs to come and visit us. We read her blog faithfully and were particularly fond of today’s post seen here. Visit her site for more inspirations.
October is winding down (can you believe it!) so we’re coming to a close with our American Cancer Society campaign. This week we wanted to share with you some colorful pictures from a Lilly fan of ours. These photos come to us from award winning reporter and anchor for Eyewitness News at 5:00pm Diana Williams. Diana joined Channel 7 in 1991 as a general assignment reporter. Diana has covered stories ranging from the troubles in Ireland to President Bush during the Gulf War and the congressional reaction to U.S. military moves. Diana attended President Clinton’s inauguration in 1993, and covered the New York City Democratic National Convention in 1992. She has also covered the Republican National Conventions in San Diego, California in 1996 and in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2000.
An experienced journalist, Diana has reported extensively on Pope John Paul II, first in New York City, then in Baltimore, Maryland in 1995. She has followed the Pontiff on his pilgrimage to Israel in 2000 and the Pope’s trips to Mexico City and St. Louis in 1999.
In addition to anchoring Eyewitness News, Diana hosts a weekly show called “Eyewitness News Up Close” the political talk show focusing on issues and information important to residents in the tri-state area. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Senator Hillary Clinton, and a host of other political figures have been guests on the show.
Diana is the recipient of numerous awards including the Headliner Award and the New York Associated Press first place award for her story, “Shelters of Shame”. Diana holds a BA in economics from Duke University, where she now serves as a member of The Duke Library Advisory Board. In addition, she is s trustee for the National Academy for Television Arts and Sciences and its New York chapter.
Diana resides in Westchester County with her husband and three children. Diana has shown her support by emceeing the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer kickoff breakfasts and events in the Eastern Division since WABC-TV New York first partnered with ACS as a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer New York Metro media sponsor 13 years ago.
Thank you, Diana, for helping us spread color and build awareness around the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign!
Lilly Pulitzer recently welcomed fashions elite for an exclusive preview in our New York City showroom. Editors from top publications such as Town & Country, Quest, People Magazine and others joined us for a special luncheon while they mix and mingled with the inspiration behind the clothes; the Lilly Pulitzer designers.
Janie Schoenborn (Fashion Director), Michelle Malia (Sportswear and Minnie’s Designer) and Abraham Cruz (Women’s Dress Designer) were all on hand to speak with the editors about…drum roll please…Spring 2011 (We know what you’re thinking – it’s only Fall, but we have to work ahead of the game in the fashion industry to ensure everything is just right once it hits the floor for YOU)! This collection is especially near and dear to our hearts because spring happens to be our favvvvorite season.
We want to send a big THANK YOU to Janie, Michelle and Abraham for traveling to NYC to preview the line and help tell the special stories behind our prints & silhouettes. Our Resort collection, which is just days away from shipping (yes, we are counting – aren’t you?) will launch our year long celebration of Lilly Loves the Arts. It seems appropriate since our talented print designers are ARTISTS. Their beautiful work is ultimately showcased on the clothes that we wear…well, EVERYDAY! Throughout our year long celebration of Art, we’ll pay tribute to several different art forms, such as fine art in spring…be sure to stay tuned for a sneak peek.
We hope these editors walked away from this preview with a serious case of SPRING fever…accompanied with an urge to paint the city pink and of course gift bags filled with a fabulous piece of Lilly to take home with them (sure to fight any impending case of the winter blues)…
We are certainly day dreaming of spring at the Pink Palace as the weather turns a bit chilly BUT for now, we admittedly are content and happy to be layering up for a festive fall. There’s just something so cozy about sweaters and tights.

It’s the beginning of the week … and you know what that means. Time to share a story of inspiration! It’s our pleasure to introduce you to Barbara Judge. This past May marked her 20th cancer free year – talk about something to celebrate! Read on to learn more about our friend, Barbara.
1.) Tell us about your breast cancer story.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer 20 years ago in 1990. I was on a business trip when my breast began hurting and I felt a lump. My sister is a breast cancer survivor and had a bilateral mastectomy in her 30’s, so I knew the importance of listening to your body and being your own health advocate through my sister’s cancer experience. I had a biopsy, which confirmed that I had breast cancer, followed by treatment with a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation. In May 2010, I celebrated my 20 year birthday of being cancer-free.
2.) Tell me about your involvement with the American Cancer Society
My first experience with the American Cancer Society was 18 years ago as a Reach to Recovery volunteer. As a survivor, I was paired with a breast cancer survivor with a similar diagnosis to myself and provided emotional support to the patient. I also started volunteering with The Society’s Patient Navigation program two years ago, where survivors are placed in local healthcare facilities and assist newly diagnosed cancer patients with cancer information and resources. Most recently, I became the volunteer coordinator for The Society’s Road to Recovery program in Westchester, where we drive patients to and from their cancer treatments if they are too sick to drive, cannot afford transportation or do not have an available friend or family member to give them a ride. I do a lot of driving – anywhere from one to five rides a day! There is a tremendous need for new drivers.
3.) Tell me about your involvement with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event
I volunteer at the survivor tent every year and talk to survivors about their personal story. We ask the survivors if there are any programs or services the American Cancer Society can assist with to aid in their cancer journey. The mood in the survivor tent is very upbeat and the survivors are very proud to be an important part of the Making Strides event.
4.) If you could give women one piece of advice about prevention and early detection as it relates to breast cancer, what would it be?
You need to know your own body and must be your own health advocate. If you feel something is wrong, visit your doctor, be persistent and get checked. Women should start getting mammograms at age 40 and if you’re at high risk, you should start testing at a younger age.
5.) Lilly Pulitzer is partnering with the American Cancer Society for breast cancer awareness!
Any company that wants to give back in some way and team up with the American Cancer Society to support our mission deserves some recognition. The partnership with Lilly Pulitzer and The Society is commendable and something I’d like to look into supporting myself through the upcoming Shop & Share events!
