A classic, Lilly favorite, White Christmas is great fun to watch and features Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen. The music is the best, including the title holiday favorite. We quote Lilly…”The movie is kind of silly and dopey, but doesn’t it make it kind of perfect?”

Other Christmas Bests of Lilly’s include FAO Schwarz’s on Fifth Avenue, The Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular and London as the best foreign city during the holidays.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Our Lilly tree is up and looking fabulous. Like our prints, this tree is packed with hidden treasures. We even found a unicorn, yes a PINK unicorn with in it’s branches. There are treats a plenty IN the tree but let’s not forget what goes UNDER the tree. Here are our top five favorites.

1. The Shere Wrap in every color.

2. The Kiki Dress in metallic jaquard.

3. Any Murfee.

4. The Resort Chic Wedge. Silver and gold please.

5. The Behind the Hedge Cuff. One of each.

Our New Year is off to a fantastic start and we plan on showering you with all things Lilly Loves for the next 12 months-Literature, Fine Art, Music and Drama. Starting with Resort, our designers were inspired by Lilly’s love of literature. The team created fabulous prints based on the fact that we all use books to plan trips, to escape, and to document our day to day journeys. Just as books allow us to be transported, so do our prints. Here is a look into some of our favorites…

Born in Nicaragua and raised in Miami, his love of the arts started in third grade when he took his first art class and continued through his studies at The Cooper Union School of Art and Science. Prior to Lilly, he was the Senior Designer for Betsy Johnson. Abraham understands what women want. He is quick to compliment you on what your wearing when you pass him in the hallway. He is always ready for a laugh and we love to watch him present his latest creations, most of which he has named after best highschool girl friends. Love him! Happy Monday Lilly Land! There is nothing better than starting the week off on the right foot – and we know sharing the story of breast cancer survivor Maureen McElwreath will help you do just that. Her fabulous outlook, sunny disposition and clear embrace of “a colorful life” are extremely admirable. Thanks, Maureen, for reminding us of the importance to always remain positive!

Q) What is your breast cancer story?

A) I had a history of growing fibroids, but they never showed up cancerous. There was no history of breast cancer in my family, but my doctor asked me to get a mammogram to rule it out. I went for my first mammogram when I was 44 years old and was diagnosed with breast cancer. My doctor recommended a lumpectomy, followed by chemotherapy and radiation. Today I am cancer-free, I get regular checkups, and go for my mammogram every year. Early detection is so important and the most important thing we as women can do for ourselves.

Q) You’re involved with the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® event. Talk about your experience.

A) The first time I went to a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, I was a little hesitant because I wasn’t sure what to expect being surrounded by so many survivors. My hesitation immediately went away when I saw the thousands of people dressed in pink, walking with their friends, family members, and coworkers while uniting around one cause: creating a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays. Being around so many people who were walking because they love someone with or lost someone to cancer was an incredible feeling and the energy was contagious!

Q) Do you have any fundraising “secrets to success”?

A) Just ask! Everyone I approached knew about my reasons for walking and my involvement in Making Strides and they wanted to support me. You can’t raise money and reach your personal goal if you don’t ask!

Q) What was your first memory of Lilly Pulitzer?

A) I discovered Lilly Pulitzer during a “girls’ trip” to Florida in the 1970s. My friends and I always look for unique, fun clothes that we can wear during the summer months in New York. I bought a Lilly Pulitzer skort in shades of pink and green which I wore back up North.  Everyone’s reaction was “Where did you get that?!” My Lilly skort was a unique design and print that everyone loved.

Q) How does Lilly help you lead a more colorful life?

A) Lilly puts a smile on my face and I always receive compliments from my friends when I’m wearing something from Lilly Pulitzer. The clothes make me feel pretty and feminine and I have a very positive outlook when I’m wearing Lilly.

Q) And your daughter is a Lilly lover too?

A) Yes! I remember when my daughter was about 12 years old and she asked if she could get her first Lilly shift dress. We found her the perfect dress – the design had hibiscus flowers in shades of pink and green.
