SHOP Tusk in Sun

1. What inspired this print?
After taking a “Lilly in Bloom” inspiration trip to the beautiful Longwood Gardens, I fell in love with their whimsical animal topiaries- including an adorable elephant we all spotted! Of course the print team ADORES elephants and the fact that they bring good luck so we just had to include some elephants in our garden game prints for Fall.

2. How did you come up with its name?
We always love a good play on words and this is another fun example. Of course “Tusk” refers to the elephants’ tusks and we ALWAYS have sunshine on the brain so it was a fun combination of our favorite things!

3. What secrets are hidden?
The elephant trunks are all turned up – for good luck, of course.

4. What materials did you use or combine to create the artwork?
Because this is a very graphic conversational print, I created it initially in pen and ink in order to achieve clean lines and smooth contours.

5. What does this print say about the Lilly girl wearing it?
The Lilly girl wearing this print knows a little luck can go a looong way – especially when you like to break the rules!

Is this print designed to make a political statement? this is disappointing from one of my favorite brands.
