Lilly Pulitzer 2012 Endless Summer Sale – What to Expect!

We’re about halfway through our 2012 Endless Summer Sale & we thought it might be helpful to give our Lilly Lovers a quick run down on what to expect while you’re expecting your Lilly!  Above are the 5 stages of Lilly sale nirvana.  Assuming the site is working great *jokes at own expense* you’ll place your much-coveted dress order.  Once the order is placed, you’ll arrive here:

This is the landing page you’ll see when your order is received.  On it, you’ll find an order number which can be a helpful reference in tracking your order or referencing if you need to ask a follow up question to the Customer Care team.  (tip: if you are a registered user & have a Lilly account, you can use this order number online to track the status of your order at all times – so when you have a moment, start an account with us!)

Soon after that, you can expect to receive an “Order Confirmation” e-mail (see below).  In this e-mail, you’ll find the same order #.  If you get this e-mail & have an order number than GREAT NEWS! – we received your order & are now in the process of fulfilling it.

Congratulations! You have moved on to the next level of Lilly sale nirvana.  Welcome to “Processing.” Processing can take up to 10 business days.  What the heck takes 10 business days you ask??  We have to pick, wrap, kiss & ship, in the order they were received, each individual order.  If you’re like so many of our customers, you may have checked out several times during the sale – that’s several boxes times what like, a gazillion??  Right… so you see where this is going…

Which brings us to the next e-mail correspondence you can expect… “Shipping confirmation.”  Shell yeah! Your order HAS LEFT the Pink Palace! Shipping generally takes 3-7 business days depending where in the United States you live.  If you’re our PA neighbor, consider yourself lucky- you could see it in 1-2 days!  Otherwise your Lilly fate is in the hands of the Fed Ex guys.

And of course the final stage of the Lilly sale nirvana is “Received.”  This is when you do a happy Lilly dance quickly followed by a fashion show (for whomever is around – if no one, then Instagram baby!) and top it off with an Oh My Gosh Lilly you are the BEST! I got my order ALREADY!  Love you! comment on Facebook.  (That last bit is optional).

This completely answered my questions!! I received my order # but not a shipping conf and was worried, but now I feel so much better and even MORE excited (if that’s even possible) to get my dress and scarf!!

I was really hoping to get the Addie “Half Shell” dress, the one with the square neckline. But when I got up at 8 the day the sale started, my computer kept freezing up, and then the website was broken, and by the time I got on there at 6, the dress was sold out! I REALLY want this dress, and was wondering if you all would put that dress back up again before the sale ends today… if at all possible.

Bummer of a day on Friday when i received my 2 pairs of Lilly shoes and both were damaged. Better luck to everyone else when their Lilly goodies arrive, because mine are going back.

i would not have placed my order last Friday if i had known that it would not be shipped until well after Labor Day. We live in Minnesota and of course the LIly line is only appropriate for Summer and resort wear. i had ordered with the intent to wear for weekend event on Sat…i would have preferred to have at least had the opportunity to pay for expedited shipping.

Made it to the confirmation page, was told I would receive an email shortly. That was over a week ago and I still have not received an email or any form of communication from Lilly. I’m getting married and ordered several dresses and items for various bridal showers and parties. Looks like I won’t have them in time to wear them (if I get them at all????) :(

wish this had been posted before i ordered…was hoping to get my items before i went out of town. now my lilly will sit outside my apartment the whole time i’m gone. never thought it would take 2 weeks to get this stuff, definitely not worth it!

Love your products; hate your service and customer support. Particularly resent your “package of sunshine” analogy. You charged my credit card and 10 days later my “package of sunshine” has still not shipped. Included in my order was a FULL priced item for one of my daughter’s best friends 16th birthday. My daughter went to the party, sans gift; she was embarrassed and humiliated When I call customer service I get a recording telling me that I should understand that you are overwhelmed and no one can give me any info on the status of my order, but, if I chose to do so I can wait on hold for an eternity and never actually have my call answered. Again, love the Lilly products, but your manner of doing business is shameful; you lack integrity and seem to think that it is justifiable because you claim to “deliver sunshine”. Actually, I think they are blowing “sunshine” up our butts!!!!! Lilly disappoints me.

I am rather baffled by such an extensive waiting period and inefficient shipping process as described above. I have never in my life had to wait almost a month for 3 dresses that ship from the US. That seems really excessive. I might expect that kind of wait for international couture. Your operations and distribution managers really need to study other models. You guys are a huge multi-million dollar company. Why are setting up the distribution of business model like it is a home business from the 70s ? I still love you and the PA you send about why it is going to take so long is great, but c’mon. We know you can do better to get us our Lily faster. XOXO

Really? I placed an order for my daughter’s birthday and we’re still waiting for just the shipping confirmation. It’s been two weeks. I have 0 confidence that she’s actually going to receive it. This is her first order online with this company and it will be our last. I give you two more business days, then I’m calling my credit card to stop payment.

So every other company that sells on line and ships seems to have the ability to ship in a maximum of 3-5 days….most are now same day with various shipping options. They for sure do not tell their customers 6-10 days and then take 12+ days. They also do not dodge questions on their customer service line thru recorded messages or give an automatic reply that says “sorry our customer service will not respond to any inquiry referring to our latest sales and late merchandise”. Not good!

Extremely disappointed that I haven’t received my order yet. I ordered a dress to wear at a wedding last weekend. I hope to receive it by Friday for another wedding I have this weekend. Unfortunately, you have a no return policy on final sale so this beautiful dress that I ordered will get 0 use this season. Agree with other posts- you should prepare for these sales. I will not be ordering from Lilly in the future.

Learn how to run an online business. 15 days and counting and still no shipping confirmation. You’re building zero brand loyalty, that’s for certain. Poorly handled all the way around. Instead of paying more people to expedite packages from the “Pink Palace,” you may want to consider a pricey PR agency to combat the “gazillions” of angry consumers you’ve created.

I’m on business day 11 and still processing. I ordered Tuesday night and know of people who received Wednesday and Thursday orders already! This is getting to be absolutely ridiculous.

It has been two weeks now and I have yet to receive confirmation that my order has even been processed BUT I continue to receive emails from Lilly urging me to order the new Fall line! I find this very irritating. I am certainly not interested in placing another order!

I ordered on August 23rd and got a confirmation email saying 8-10 days. I understand the sale was a HUGE sucess but it has been 19 days and I have not heard anything else. This should have been processed by now! Lilly needs to learn from this and hire alot of help for this sale because it leaves people with angry feeling towards Lilly when we all love to wear it. This needs to be addressed at a corporate meeting and even hire more Communication people to address emails or the phone no one likes to be told to just wait. If you want us to pay full price for new falll items some of these concerns need to be dealt with and we need to feel appreciated for our loyalty.

I as well as many other people have ordered clothes from the summer sale but have yet to receive them. My order was place August 22nd and the three tank tops that I can’t wear unless they come soon because it will start to get cold have not been shipped. I could have ordered something from Walmart and it would be at my door step within a week.. I paid for designer clothes I would expect to have fast shipped or better communication. Don’t tell everyone 5-7 business days and then wait a month.

I placed an order 2 weeks ago, and still haven’t received an email with a tracking number. I just knew the dresses that I ordered would be here for my daughters 6th birthday. Today her birthday came and went…. I wish I could have surprised her with the four new dresses that were a big part of her birthday present. I have always bought Lilly dresses for her in one of the stores. I had NO idea it would take 2 weeks to “process” my order! Who knows when my order will actually arrive??? SO bummed :(

I’ve placed my first and possibly my last order with LP. I ordered on the 2nd day of the sale (8/22) and was advised that my daughter would receive the order the following Monday. I was very clear that the order should go to her address (5 hours away) and that the billing address for the credit card was mine. Not only did we wait 18 days, last night I was notified that the dress had finally been shipped, but to my address. I contacted LP and was advised that they did not have a FX tracking number but that I could contact FX using the order number and find out the status. Of course FX needs the tracking number and so could not assist. When I asked LP if they could do something to make this “right” (ie. a discount, or coupon for future use..) they declined.

I order often and have never had such a poor shopping exprience. Based on the other comments, the only way to get them to make this right is to have everyone who ordered contact them and request a discount or coupon.

LP is owned by Oxofrd Industries– a publicly traded company. In the past , I have reommended the stock to clients, but now I have my doubts that the company is well run.

Please show your consumer power to make sure LP hears you. Contact them and ask for an adjustment. :) (Politely please..)

Order was confirmed for delivery in 7 business days. 11 business days later it has not even shipped. Arrived home from out of town on business to no shipment and my daughter’s birthday is tomorrow! Thanks, Lilly. I will now have a very disappointed teenager on my hands!

It’s been nearly 3 weeks since my order. (Not on the sale). Ridiculous. Work some overtime and catch up people! Looks like about 3-4 weeks after order date before we get the order. Amazingly poor service on my first order. There was no option to upgrade shipping at time of order either. I shoulda suspected something then.

DB I must agree that each time I receive one of those emails I’m even more annoyed that my order still says processing and I placed my order on 8/23 and my account has been debited!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible Horrible service and I will not order ANYTHING from here again.

I ordered items for my wife’s birthday because she loves Lilly. Her birthday is next week and I STILL have no Lilly items!!! I called customer service and after being treated like a patsy (lots of “ooh you bought some nice things”), I asked what I was supposed to do for my wife’s birthday since I won’t have any Lilly gifts. The “customer service rep” actually told me I could buy my wife a cake and at least let her know I acknowledged it. This is a slap in the face considering the amount of money I spent. She also said the items would ship today but no such luck evidently. Just for the record, I did get my wife some very nice gifts and one came from the Tory Burch sale and I received my items within 3 days of my order. I think I will have to rethink my purchasing from Lilly and they may have lost a loyal customer. I post this to hopefully help other people with the same issues to have a voice against poor, unacceptable service and experiences.

I emailed today as my order has been processing for two weeks now. This is worse than the debacle of the ESS sale in 2011! A free pair of MCKims sort of made up for all the cancelled items…what will you offer this time? I’ve heard the answer is nada, nothing, no apologies..
The bold letter message that you cannot respond to inquiries regarding
ESS orders is even worse. I am beyond disappointed :(

I placed order on 8/23 and order is not shipped yet! I have emailed customer service 6 times.My last name was cut off of delivery info for some reason..No reply to any emails @ Lilly..Lilly will not answer any phone calls and disconnects when I call them to fix this problem..My order will NEVER reach me w/out my last name info,since I live in gated community.

I was a loyal customer but think I will only shop at my local store..This is such a hassle..

Caitlin – I ordered mine on 8/22 as well and according to this hand dandy step by step guide, the 10 business days process should be over and we should have been sent a shipping confirmation. I just e-mailed them asking why it’s still processing but after reading some of these comments, I don’t have any hope for a response. I’m waiting till Wednesday and if I have’t received a shipping confirmation or any type of response I’m issuing a stop payment on my card.

“Please see below if your question is in regards to the status of your Endless Summer Sale order and note that we will not respond to your inquiry as we do not have specific order information.”

This is what I got when I e-mailed a question about my ESS order. Really? So I am not even ALLOWED to ask about it?

I will TRY my best to be patient since my order wasn’t placed until 8/25 BUT if I don’t
get it by the end of next week, then as a consumer, I have every right to take my grievance to the BBB. My credit card was charged and my order was not shipped even after 10 business days have passed.

I adore your brand and been a HUGE fan of it for years. All my previous experiences shopping online on numerous sales went without a hitch. Not sure what happened this time around. But it’s very upsetting. The summer is ending and I won’t even get to wear what I’ve purchased with my hard earned dollar.

The Endless Summer Sale should be called the Endless Waiting Game… Customer Service is severely lacking. My order was placed on 8/22 and it still hasn’t shipped. Your “shipping within 10 business days” mantra can no longer apply, so please update your blog to give us a more honest answer to our question of when our orders will ship. The right thing to do would be to provide next day shipping for all outstanding orders so we can receive them in a more timely fashion. Someone has dropped the ball on the handling of this sale.

BTW, you also state that orders are shipped “in the order they were received” and this is not true because I placed three separate orders during the sale and I received two later orders prior to my first one. Still waiting for the first order which was the biggest order. Had I known you would send smaller orders faster, I would have placed 10 separate orders instead!

I am at day 20 of still “processing” emailed Lilly twice NO response, I bought my outfit for an event on the 15th completely dissappointed in the lack of communication Lilly has provided and with the non existent customer service. I would have never placed the order if I knew UPFRONT it could take more than 3 weeks. Lilly better do something to make it up to the loyal customers or this loyal customer is gone.

I ordered my lilly products over 2 weeks ago making processing longer than “up to ten business days” it’s been at least eleven. This is my first time ordering with this company and I am NOT impressed and will not be ordering again. I called customer service and they told me to “be patient”. Ridiculous!! Other companies have sales too and are fully prepared to get their orders out in a reasonable manner. Maybe a few days longer than normal but NEVER ten. I’ve had 2 events where I could wear my Lilly wear but was not able to. Very disappointed in service.

Places my order on 8/24 and was charged. Still haven’t gotten a shipping confirmation email and when I get to my order status page it says processing. I gave the 10 business days and still haven’t heard anything!!! I sent an email to Lilly questioning this and got a reply that I would hear from someone in 24 hours. That didn’t happen either! I’d really like my order!!!

Very disappointed.. I placed a large order on August 22, hoping that I would receive it at least by September 7th so that I could wear one of the skirts for an event. I figured that I would receive it within 2 and a half weeks of placing the order. On Wednesday it will have been 3 weeks, yet the order still has yet to even ship.

I placed my order on 24 August and it’s still “processing”. It’s been twelve business days. I love Lilly and will continue to buy from the line, but it’s really irritating when I’m having to wait so long. Is there a way y’all could at least announce what order number you’re on?

Placed order 8/23/12…YES, THAT WAS 18 DAYS AGO!!! NO shipment confirmation yet! HOWEVER, Lilly placed a “PENDING DEBIT” on my account 6 days ago, and today my bank alerted me that they tried to debit my account AGAIN for ANOTHER $250… Yes, Lilly tried to DOUBLE DIP my bank account! (Lucky for me it didn’t go thru) Sadly, we were waiting on a dress for my 13 yr old daughter for a Bat Mitzvah she attended this past weekend. We had to scramble at the last minute and find something else. I wish that the website would have said how long it was going to take… I did send an email and was told that I “would not receive a response regarding the endless summer sale”. NEVER seen such bad customer service… should have spent my hard earned money somewhere else…

Received my Endless Summer Sale items today (after placing order way back on 8/22) and the box is missing one item included on the internal invoice and for which I was charged. If customer service won’t respond what is my recourse other than to file a dispute with my credit card company? I’m confused by the automated reply that Lilly will not respond to questions about the summer sale, Is it really easier for Lilly to deal with the credit card companies than its customers?

Soo…I ordered my Lilly order about 3 weeks ago and it has been in processing for a few weeks which I think is kind of rediculous. Not only that, what I ordered wasn’t even anything that was on sale during the endless summer sale and it was also a gift as I have seen many other people say on here too. Lilly has the cutest things and I absolutely adore the products, but ordering online has seemed like a really terrible choice for me which is a shame. And on top of that, the salespeople in the Lilly Stores that I have visited have been really hit or miss. Either very friendly and helpful, or EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful. Love the product, but the service has been pretty terrible from my experience. And this current situation definitely is not helping.
