SHOP: Summer Classics

1. What inspired this print?
The print team loves a good play on words. One of our favorite parts of designing each collection is naming the prints. The Summer Classics print started when I wrote “butter me up” in a lobster. We couldn’t get enough of the witty motifs so we decided to put them all in one fun, Summery print!

2. How did you come up with its name?
The print is filled with things that just scream summer…shells, lobsters, boats ect. It’s all the classic things we love from the season.

3. What secrets are hidden?
All of the motifs have words hidden in them…the lime says “squeeze me” the boat says “rock my boat.” It’s a garment and a conversation piece.

4. What materials did you use or combine to create the artwork?
I used my favorite Tombow markers that have a brush tip. They give me the control I want from a marker and the slightly uneven line of a brush.

5. What does this print say about the Lilly girl wearing it?
The print feels fresh and graphic. I think the girl who wears this is classic with a twist.
