A Lilly Lover’s Trip to Paradise!

Posted on September 16, 2011 in More Fun by | 3 comments

Aloha Lilly Lovers! In anticipation of our favorite summer months slowly winding down (I’m jealous of all you Floridians!), I decided to take an end of summer vacay to one of the most beautiful spots I have ventured thus far: Maui, the second largest island in Hawaii. What better way to escape the end of summer blues than to pack my Lilly and play in the sea, sand, sun?!

Now, I’m not really sure where to begin with this magical journey. The whole trip was a blur of beautiful beaches, the bluest ocean I’ve ever seen, and LOTS of Lilly clothes to accompany me on my journey. I’m going to give you a glimpse of my trip…where I went & what I wore! The first, and one of my most favorite, the Cassie slub Dress, came in most handy out of all my Lilly’s- perfect for wearing as a cover up or as an easy dress to dinner. The Cassie was perfect for almost every Hawaiian occasion.  Here’s a quick pic of me while driving the Road to Hana on my way to our lux hotel, the Ritz Carlton, Kapalua (!!!!!) How cute is the color on this Cassie? (I have the Warehouse Sale to thank for this sample purchase…we never offered yellow on our line!)

The Road to Hana is world famous for the natural beauty of its untouched landscapes and towering waterfalls. I can’t say enough about these breathtaking views. Although the road itself is VERY windy, with unexpected tosses and turns, it was well worth the headache to see some of the most spectacular views in Maui. It took us about 7 hours (yep!) to travel the entire island, and after hour six, I couldn’t wait to get to our hotel, put my feet up and have a tasty, fruity beverage…drink umbrella included!

I have been way too excited about staying at the Ritz since booking our trip in the beginning of August. I had seen pictures online, but they didn’t do the property justice.  After a grueling two hour drive from Hana, we finally made it to the hotel and piled out of the car. We were promptly welcomed by Ritz Carlton staffers and escorted down a log corridor to check in. The view from the front lobby and Alaloa Lounge, is what caught my eye first. Check out the pool below…it’s calling my name! The waterfall, three tiered pool is surrounded by beach chairs, cabanas, and Lilly Loving families on vacation (I wasn’t the only one wearing Lilly on my trip to paradise- lots of families SPOTTED wearing their Lilly!)

Even better yet, our room was overlooking the pool and the beach! Below is the view of the pool from my room…I couldn’t wait to throw on my swim gear Saturday. In the meantime, I was starving, so I threw on my Lilly cocktail attire, and headed to the Alaloa Lounge for a quick bite. Spinach and artichoke dip for dinner? Yes please. The Ritz is known for some of the best restaurants in Kapalua. Although the Alaloa Lounge offers lighter fair, the Banyan Tree is the primo dining option on property. With options for everyone, especially seafood lovers, this offers some of the best food you can get on the island. After a long day of traveling and a yummy dinner, I was ready for bed. Excited to wake up and start my Saturday fresh.

Saturday morning…I can’t seem to catch up with island time! There’s a six hour time difference for me which means I’ve been waking up with the sun around 6:15 every morning… but who can complain waking up to the beautiful view below?!

An ocean front room isn’t all that bad, and I had quite the day of pampering ahead of me. My first stop? The Waihua Spa. Never have I been in such a tranquil environment. Guests are greeted by spa reps that offer a private tour of the lounge, spa, and waiting area. I arrived 45 minutes early to get in on all of the wonderful spa amenities. The facilities are equipped with Jacuzzis, saunas, refreshments and light snacks. I of course needed to wear my best Lilly bathing suit for the occasion. I picked the Coral Me Crazy (one of my favorite prints!) bandeau top and bottom.  I spent the next two hours relaxing in the spa lounge, taking frequent dips in the Jacuzzi, and enjoying a 50 minute massage. Once I wore out my welcome, I decided to take a trip to the beach. Luckily the spa package allows you to stop by throughout the day as you please, so I could always come back. Check out some of the pictures below…don’t I look relaxed?

From the spa, I quickly ran upstairs and grabbed my favorite Romper to run around in the rest of the day. Can I please tell you how O.B.S.E.S.S.E.D I am with this? It’s the most comfortable run around outfit that I own. Perfect to dress up or down, and I received several compliments throughout the day! Straw bag in tow, I headed to the beach to pick the perfect spot to sun in. The property at the Ritz is HUGE and it’s a scenic walk to the beach, passing by some of the other great amenities I was planning to get into later. (Lots of outdoor activities like their Snorkeling Adventure I was dying to try!)  I spent some time soaking up the sun and then enjoyed a relaxing late lunch at the Beach House. (lots of eating on this trip- next to the hitting the beach, it’s definitely my favorite activity!)

I was finally able to tear myself away from my lazy days sunning on the beach to get some great snorkeling in (I swam with the turtles!) and I got the chance to paddle boarded a bunch too. I also managed to catch a quick game of Bocce ball! I can’t say enough (as you can tell!) about how dreamy my island vacay was. I’m already planning my next trip to paradise & it couldn’t come soon enough!

I recently returned from a 2.5 week vacay in Maui as well, and of course I wore Lilly everyday!

I was there last week too, wearing my patty dresses, in blue and in pink/green!
