Owner’s Names: Steve and Margaret Smith

A little history from us: We started buying Lilly product for one of our other stores, Wilmington Country Store, in Greenville, DE in the late 1990’s. WCS was actually one of the first stores to carry Lilly Pulitzer after it was relaunched- we’ve loved Lilly since the early days! We decided to open our Annapolis store dedicated completely to Lilly Pulitzer and opened The Pink Crab in 2002.

Our favorite Lilly Story: Steve fondly recalls a memory of a Lilly buying trip from the early days…We were all in Palm Beach to buy for an upcoming season and Lilly Pulitzer (Yes, the REAL LILLY, pinch me now!) hosted a party at her house for us. Not only was the house TDF, the party was amazing! Of course things got a bit carried away, as they usually do when the Lilly group is involved. A big group of people ended up jumping in Lilly’s pool- fully clothed in their favorite Lilly’s! We knew then and there that this was a group that liked to have the kind of fun that we did!

Our favorite product from the Summer ’11 delivery is… Callahan Short, White Regatta Embroidery! The perfect shorts for this avid sailing town!

About your town/shopping center: We are located in the heart of historic downtown Annapolis right around the corner from the United States Naval Academy and a block away from the city dock. We love our location and our water views! Annapolis is a laid back town with a lot of character and charm. We love to eat crabs, go sailing and boating, cheer for Navy football, watch the Blue Angels, and shop and dine downtown. Annapolis is a very dog friendly town too- we always have our pink water bowl outside and offer treats to our 4-legged Lilly Lovers when they come to visit.  And if you’re lucky, you just might meet our favorite furry friend, Wally!

A favorite customer story: A little girl dressed head-to-toe in pink, walked in our front door and said “WOW it looks like a dream in here!” Her sweet reaction was priceless!
And a favorite story about people who aren’t customers: One funny thing that happens during the summertime; people call our store asking how much a bushel of crabs are. We find it very funny!
