We’re always quoting some of the fun things Lilly said during her time in building this brand, but the one quote that really resonated with her consumers; the one with more meaning for all of us is, “If you have no charity in your heart, you have the worse type of heart trouble.”

Based on Lilly’s belief in giving back to her community (and having fun while doing it!), the Lilly Pulitzer brand is always doing things, sometimes small, sometimes big, in supporting national and local organizations, events and communities. One of the ways we do this is through our corporate stores program called “Shop & Shares.” If you’re a fan on our Facebook page, you’ve likely seen us post something about these parties from time to time. Shop & Shares are a fun way to raise money & awareness about your organization while, in true Lilly form, throwing a great bash!

We get a lot of questions about how Lilly gives back and it’s a very important topic for all of us, but especially to Lilly herself. Because of that, we participate in a lot of philanthropic activities, some more formal & organized than others, but Shop & Shares are an easy way for anyone to partner with us. We wanted to pass along information about our Shop & Shares so you can put one together for your own local organization!

WHAT: A Shop & Share is an in-store party where your guests get one-on-one shopping advice from our in-store specialists! Lilly also provides the refreshments! 10% of sales generated from your party are donated back to your organization.
WHO: The event is initiated by a local organization or group looking to bring people together around a cause
WHEN: Events can be held on weekdays or weekends, morning (mimosas, anyone?) day or night and they usually range from 2-3 hours. (They can’t be held during a corporate promotion or holiday)
HOW: Lilly Pulitzer will help design an invitation and/or an e-mail for you to send out to your invitees. We will even help spread the word about your event to our local Facebook fans!
WHY: Really, why?!? Because fundraising and philanthropies need NOT be boring or annoying. Invite your friends to a Lilly Pulitzer Shop & Share and they love you — when the night’s over, so does your organization! Did we mention YOU will have a great time too?! Win-win-win.
