Pink. The Color of the Year. Our Color Everyday.

Posted on February 7, 2011 in More Fun by | 3 comments

All week long, we’re celebrating our most favorite color….which OF COURSE is PINK! We do have love affairs with other colors but it’s safe to say pink is our most “committed relationship.” So now you’re thinking, doesn’t Lilly celebrate pink every day? Well obviously we do. But it’s not just the heart shaped holiday around the corner prompting us to celebrate pink even more this week- actually it’s the recognition our good friends at Pantone gave pink when they announced the selection of Honeysuckle Pink as the 2011 Color of the Year. We couldn’t be more thrilled that they are telling the world what we’ve known for years; the color pink is known to lift spirits, instill confidence and even elevate our psyche. And Honeysuckle Pink just happens to bear a veeeery close resemblance to one of our longtime favorites, Hotty Pink.

Janie Schoenborn, Lilly Pulitzer Print Design Director, will tell you “Pink simply makes the world a better place. Whether you are dipped in it, wrapped in it or just using it as an accent…painting your house pink…painting your nails pink…dying your poodle pink…eating pink lemonade ice cream…or watching Pretty In Pink. There is no color quite like it. It has put a smile on our face for over 50 years being Lilly Pulitzer. Makes 2011 look like a pretty fun year!”

Oh, and yes it is true, we DO work in a pink building. We’re literally surrounding ourselves in pink and we feel pretty happy, confident, powerful and courageous every day!

Do you know the pink paint color name and brand that is used for the Pulitzer offices. That is what I want in my home, but can’t find a cool pink to put on walls. Please help.
