The Mighty Abraham

Posted on November 18, 2010 in More Fun by | 3 comments

Meet Abraham, the newest addition to our Lilly family. Born in Nicaragua and raised in Miami, his love of the arts started in third grade when he took his first art class and continued through his studies at The Cooper Union School of Art and Science. Prior to Lilly, he was the Senior Designer for Betsy Johnson. Abraham understands what women want. He is quick to compliment you on what your wearing when you pass him in the hallway. He is always ready for a laugh and we love to watch him present his latest creations, most of which he has named after best highschool girl friends. Love him! We sat down with Abraham for a little Q&A. Read below to hear what we found out!

RM: Why do you love Lilly Pulitzer?
AC: Becasue it represents a happy, optimistic lifestyle. I need happy colors and happy people around me and I LOVE dresses!

RM: Where do you find your inspirations?
AC: All over! A-Z. Art shows, broadway, costumes, dance, editorial, France, glamour, hippies, industrial, junk, kitsch, love, music, nostalgia, opulence, Palm Beach, quirky, renaissance, streets, travel, utopia, vintage, water, x-rays, you and zoos.

RM: What are 5 things you can’t live without?
AC: Water, avacado, bronzer, Khiels and Lilly Pulitzer.

RM: What are your favorite pieces you have designed for Lilly?
AC: For Summer 2011 I love the Bettie, the Gwen, the Karli and the MarieKate. I love all of Fall 2011 but most of all the Bibi.

Thanks Abraham! And to our dear readers, let us know how you like our designer/employee interviews. We will feature a new personality weekly. Let us know who you want to hear from.

Hi, I read about Lilly Pulitzer internships on this blog in the past and was wondering if internships are still offered and where/when they will be posted? I did not see anything about them on the Careers page of the website. Thanks!
