Lilly Pulitzer recently welcomed fashions elite for an exclusive preview in our New York City showroom. Editors from top publications such as Town & Country, Quest, People Magazine and others joined us for a special luncheon while they mix and mingled with the inspiration behind the clothes; the Lilly Pulitzer designers.

Janie Schoenborn (Fashion Director), Michelle Malia (Sportswear and Minnie’s Designer) and Abraham Cruz (Women’s Dress Designer) were all on hand to speak with the editors about…drum roll please…Spring 2011 (We know what you’re thinking – it’s only Fall, but we have to work ahead of the game in the fashion industry to ensure everything is just right once it hits the floor for YOU)! This collection is especially near and dear to our hearts because spring happens to be our favvvvorite season.

We want to send a big THANK YOU to Janie, Michelle and Abraham for traveling to NYC to preview the line and help tell the special stories behind our prints & silhouettes. Our Resort collection, which is just days away from shipping (yes, we are counting – aren’t you?) will launch our year long celebration of Lilly Loves the Arts. It seems appropriate since our talented print designers are ARTISTS. Their beautiful work is ultimately showcased on the clothes that we wear…well, EVERYDAY!  Throughout our year long celebration of Art, we’ll pay tribute to several different art forms, such as fine art in spring…be sure to stay tuned for a sneak peek.

We hope these editors walked away from this preview with a serious case of SPRING fever…accompanied with an urge to paint the city pink and of course gift bags filled with a fabulous piece of Lilly to take home with them (sure to fight any impending case of the winter blues)…

We are certainly day dreaming of spring at the Pink Palace as the weather turns a bit chilly BUT for now, we admittedly are content and happy to be layering up for a festive fall. There’s just something so cozy about sweaters and tights.
