The New Age of Print Designers!

Future Print Designers? Perhaps! We were thrilled, not to mention touched, when we received an email from a passionate art teacher from Potomac, Maryland. Cyndi McClave, who used Lilly prints as inspirations for her sixth grade art class, got the idea after watching Janie on The Martha Stewart Show last year. Using nature and animals, this young crew of Lilly Lovers produced amazing results and we just had to share their work with all of you. Our message for 2011 is Lilly Loves the Arts and we couldn’t think of a better way to prepare for our upcoming season than to feature designs from our talented future generation. Thank you Cyndi!

Holy Child Middle School is SO lucky to have such a dynamic teacher who fills our pink and green HEARTS with so much LILLY LOVE!!! Now if only we could upgrade to LILLY PULITZER uniform skirts….. one can only DREAM!!! xxoo!!!

Great artwork! What a neat idea for a class project. I love the ideas presented here and would love Lilly prints in the sea themes that the kids came up with! Fun!

Looking forward to the new big idea for Resort 2010 to 2011 — Lilly Loves Art! Can’t wait to see what Lilly has in store for all of us — oh…maybe some Lilly lithographs or original paintings of prints for us Lilly Lovers to frame in our homes?

With so many schools having to cut budgets (higher education included) — fine arts often gets cut first. Maybe you all can ask local Lilly Corporate Stores (and bigger Via stores) to get involved at schools in their communities.

For example, at my children’s elementary school, I serve as a “Gallery Great” volunteer. I bring a print of a famous artist and ask the students how the art makes them feel, what do they see — etc. Also teach them a history of the artist and style they fall under. And then, we do a project together.

How fun would it be to introduce to them the art of fashion — and what goes into make a Lilly print. Just an idea!
