Just yesterday, I was seated at my desk at Lilly HQ under fluorescent lighting in desperate need of highlights and a sun tan. 7 hours of flying time, 2 glasses of merlot and 1 ambien later, I’m seated at a cafe determining our plan of attack. I’m traveling with my siblings, no parents on this trip… Not sure why we’ve waited until our mid-twenties to do this, but it’s fantastic (sorry mom & dad)…
After landing, we were immediately shuttled over to our hotel for a power nap and an espresso. We happened to be staying at the wonderfully welcoming Hotel Pulitzer (no relation to our Pulitzer’s, but equally as fabulous.) As luck would have it, the hotel is directly next door to a Starbucks. (I know I should refuse to patronize an American chain, but yours truly, a self proclaimed caffeine addict, could not resist the comforts of home).

I also passed a fantastic little shop in the city’s gothic district called “Happy Pills”. Unfortunately, I only snapped a pic after it was closed, but they carried wildly printed clothing for the whole family… I could not help but notice everyone in the store was also incredibly happy as they sifted through the colorful mix of sundresses, bathing suits and graphic tees. This got me thinking…. “Happy Pills: A Lilly Pulitzer Via Shop”? I think we’ve got a market here!
Did I mention that Lilly’s Beckman Sweater is the perfect travel companions? The girls and I layered over our printed “Meri” tops and white jeans for the plane, and we were cocktail ready upon arrival.
Where are we?
